Ultragator, Ultra Gator, Ultra*Gator, Maxtag II

Sensormatic developed the UltraGator, one of the best tags ever created. (here is a pic if you are unfamiliar) All Sensormatic sensor tags have the Sensormatic logo branded on them.
UltraGator sensor tagThe Ultra*Gator is compatible with All Sensormatic Ultramax anti-theft systems. The locking mechanism is what this tag so much better than magnetic ball locking tags. The pin can only be removed by MK75 Gator hand detacher or an MK90 Gator power detacher.

Can you tell which tag is pictured below?
Maxtag IIThis an Ultra 58, also known as a Maxtag II. The Ultra 58 contains the same materials as the Sensormatic UltraGator and functions exactly the same. The only difference is the Sensormatic logo that is not branded on the tag. Oh, that's right a new Ultra 58 will cost you a fraction of the price of a new Sensormatic branded Ultragator.

Best Security

Best security...What a relative term. Best what? Best Security Company? Best Security Industry? Best Security Hard-on?

If a company is going to use the term "best" in their name they better be pretty damn good. You never see OK Security Industries, or mediocre security industrys. I think if a company is using the word Best in their title them they are compensating for something...Inferior products? Poor service? You never can tell. Maybe we should name the site Best Retail Loss Prevention and EAS Solutions blog.

Look at another example; Best Buy. You get a much better buy at BrandsMart and the prices are the same at Circuit City. If you can find the product at Costco it will be much cheaper than Best Buy. If there was a Costco of the retail security industry it would Security Tag Store.

Retail clothing security tag question of the day!

If you could be a source tag what would you be?

A)Checkpoint 410 series anti-theft sensor
B)Ultrastrip Sensormatic ultramax label
C)Sensormatic Supertag Visible Source Tag (VST)

Checking with the Judges...

unanimous Decision - SENSORMATIC SUPERTAG VST

Comments?
anonymous Judge: I would only be a Super Tag visible source tag by sensormatic. I am not one of these easy EAS tags, that will drop my pin for anybody. I am a sophisticated sensor tag that likes compliments and the gentle touch of Sensormatic SuperTag Detacher.

Players and Haters

There will always be players on one side and haters on the other. Haters are jealous of the players, when as we know it is the game they should hate.

Does this mean that players love the game? Not always the case, the Players just see and understand that there is a game you can either play it or sit back and wish you were good enough.

How does this translate into Retail Security and Loss Prevention? To most shoplifters stealing is just a game, it is not done out of necessity. It could be the rush, or a sense of entitlement, or they see a great opportunity (a store without EAS).

Yes, some do shoplift out of necessity but they are the minority. The shoplifter that grabs $2000 in clothes from Chicos, are they stealing out of necessity? How about the person who grabs a couple hundred dollars worth of wine from Publix?

Some Players - People and Companies that see the world for what it is.
1. Sensormatic
2. Wal-Mart
3. Sears
4. K&G Fashion Superstore
5. Security Tag Store

Some Haters - People and Companies that can see the world for what it is. Maybe their head is just too far up their ass!
1. Chicos and White House / Black Market...NO EAS
2. Veritas from Loss Prevention Blog...head up ass
3. Costco...NO EAS
4. Publix...NO EAS
5. Bath & Body Works...NO EAS
